Overview
Kimley-Horn is seeking a Lead Contract Specialist to join our Austin office. In this role, you'll have exposure to project managers, project financials and clients, and will directly influence risk management.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the activities of the contract specialists, manage the flow of contracts, provide training, and help resolve complex issues. They will review, negotiate, and help resolve a significant number of contracts for both public and private sector clients.
This individual will work with professional staff to address needs across offices, while making sure there are appropriate resources and addressing specific problem areas. They will be responsible for the organization and management of contract activities that results in high quality reviews, clear advice to project managers on how to proceed, and dedicated partnership to resolve issues. Additionally, they will coordinate with General Counsel as appropriate on individual issues and the overall quality of contract reviews. They will report directly to management and collaborate with team members.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Relevant experience related to reviewing and resolving contracts (Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry preferred)
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AEC private and public sector contracts
- Prior experience in the AEC Industry
