What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Leader - Altamont, UT position at Kinder Morgan?
This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position will work closely with the Supervisor, Maintenance Mechanics for the planning, scheduling and execution of mechanical maintenance activities. This position’s primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Crew Lead will perform supervisory duties including; coaching employees, participating in the performance review process, participating in performance management decisions, provide technical training recommendations, perform technical competency evaluations and recommending promotions.
- Provide oversight & direction to mechanics in execution of work related to compression/equipment maintenance.
- Work with supervisor to develop annual, monthly and weekly plans. Assign work accordingly.
- Ensure that all KM policies and procedures are followed.
- Provide updates to the supervisor on progress of all work.
- Ensure that all equipment is operating reliably and in compliance with all environmental regulations. Participate in reliability initiatives, including equipment failure investigations, reliability meetings, service bulletin implementation, coordination with OEM, etc.
- The position will require managing multiple capital and O&M projects, which includes monitoring/forecasting budgets, planning/scheduling, ordering materials, bidding, managing contracts, coordinating OEM/contractor support, etc.
- Assists in managing critical spare inventories (reordering parts, recommending parts to be added to inventory, track part refurbishment/exchanges, etc.
- Support all related budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Coordinating call out schedules, PTO schedules, etc
Position Requirements
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent- Extensive experience with all aspects of compression operations, maintenance, emissions and construction
- Experience with contracting and supervising outside construction support and tracking expenditures.
- Thorough knowledge of company administrative and operating policies/procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of compression maintenance, and Emergency Response

- Skilled in the use of computers for maintaining and modifying all types of pipeline related records as well as various types of corporate related software including the Microsoft Office software.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including ability to assume the project manager role for O&M and small Capital projects.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and organize work / jobs focused on customer service and safe task completion.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to plan and effectively conduct efficient meetings and training sessions
- Strong networking skills and the ability to use appropriate resources (people, equipment, and materials) to achieve desired results.

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Working conditions:
- Live or relocate permanent residence to within 30 miles of Kinder Morgan Gas Pipeline’s, Altamont Area Office.
- Must be available for call-out 24/7 unless prior arrangements are approved by Supervision.
- Candidate will be required to successfully pass company background check and drug test to be eligible for hire.
