What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Compliance Analyst position at Kinder Morgan?
Primary purpose:
The Compliance Analyst resides within Information Technology. The successful candidate will be working for one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. The candidate will serve as a project control and compliance liason across the IT Department, working with all disciplines and areas in the IT area.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Demonstrate an understanding of internal control concepts and the ability to apply them to project planning and project execution.
- Review and identify control gaps to mitigate risks associated with IT technical projects.
- Ensure project policies, procedures, and standards are followed accordingly to the project plan and internal controls.
- Assist in streamlining project standards and templates for IT related projects.
- Proactively review and track project status and communicate changes timely.
- Monitor and track project execution and deliverability (on time and target).
- Provide department wide project portfolio status and performance updates to IT Senior Management.
- Assist Cyber Security in tracking and ensuring compliance with TSA Cybersecurity directives, applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s
- Ensure all IT Departments comply with established SOX controls, quality of documentation is appropriate, and meet established timelines for
- Interact directly with IT auditors
- Utilize various data analytics tools to extract, organize, and present information to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain process standardization.
- Perform special projects, investigations, and other reviews as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with others.
Position Requirements
- Education minimum: undergraduate degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Information Technology, or other business-related area required.
- Must have 2 years of external or internal IT audit experience, including SOX controls, Big 4 preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Team player, willing to assist the department and the company in meeting their annual goals.
- Local candidates preferred; no relocation available
- Job level commensurate with experience and skill set.
