What you’ll do with us:
As a KinderSystems Product Manager, you will leverage your deep knowledge of product management to guide teams in developing intuitive, easy to use, highly functional software for the child care industry. The product management team is small, and we are all hands-on contributors in growing our business. This is a high visibility role where you will collaborate with our leadership, development, QA, support, operations, sales and marketing – and most importantly our clients! What You Will Do
- Work cross functionally with executives, stakeholders and engineering teams to define the product vision and strategy
- Create, execute on, and be accountable to strategic roadmaps
- Drive market analysis, recognize market trends, perform competitive analysis and develop business cases to identify new initiatives accordingly
- Define features and requirements that deliver on our initiatives and drive to our strategic vision as defined in our roadmaps
- Makes feature, schedule and delivery trade off decisions. Provide direction to engineering department for delivery priorities and risk management.
- Work with development and quality assurance departments in coordinating release schedules
- Prioritize initiatives, features and development to deliver growth, quality and the highest amount of value to our customers
- Collaborate with documentation team to ensure that product documentation meets client needs and is maintained to reflect changes and enhancements.
- Assist the client operations team in tracking of client issues, making regular client contacts, collecting client surveys and maintaining measurable client satisfaction metrics.
- Formulate and measure product analytics to ensure on-going product performance and customer satisfaction
- Assist with the proposal development process, particularly when functionality changes or enhancements are required. Collaborate with software development on the design approach, own the writing of functional specifications and obtain development and Quality Assurance estimates. Work with CFO and other stakeholders to establish pricing Approve all change orders and non-standard proposals related to the product.
- Engage and participate in strategic customer briefings, prospect meetings and industry events
- Perform compelling demos for customers, prospects and stakeholders to show how the product meets the client needs
Who you are:
- 5 years experience in Product Management for software/SaaS businesses
- Focused on delivery and getting things done!
- Experienced in leading agile teams in the role of product owner, and have a strong understanding of agile processes
- Driven by data and research in your approach to making product and prioritization decisions
- Strong project management skills. Formal PMP Certification is a Plus
- An outstanding communicator – both verbally and in writing as well as a strong presenter
- Demonstrate the ability to be intellectually flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization cross-functionally
- Experienced in building and maintaining effective work relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders, and establishing credibility with clients and partners
- You exhibit high emotional intelligence and are willing to give and receive critical feedback, have difficult conversations when required, and recover gracefully from your own mistakes
- Bachelors degree in business administration, engineering or related field is a plus
- Experience with UI/UX 508 Compliance Issues
- Experience working with products that serve public sector and nonprofit clients a plus
- Child care industry experience is a plus, but not a requirement
- Willing to travel up to 20%
