We have the vision to see what’s possible, the expertise to make it happen and the agility to overcome any challenge along the way.   Kindeva is navigating a period of dynamic change and growth. We are looking for a talented Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to join our team.   Summary of Position The person hired for the position of Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer will be the lead for environmental compliance and will be part of an EHS team providing safety, risk reduction, and environmental consulting services as assigned for the site’s Production and Plant Engineering operations in Northridge California. Job Responsibilities Manage and improve Environmental Management Systems (e.g. ISO-45001)Collects and analyzes environmental safety and health data and reports trends and results to departments, and management Develops and implements safety and environmental programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions, and/or environmental findings Develop and deliver environmental/safety/EHS-related training Lead and conduct safety risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans Support ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations for improvements Lead accident and incident investigations to determine the root cause and develop corrective actions Prepare EHS compliance audit protocols and conduct compliance audits of site Develop, train to, and audit emergency response protocols Waste Management - proper disposal of empty containers, regulated, and non-regulated waste streams from the department. Responsible for preparation and packaging of the hazardous waste shipments. Sufficient knowledge of job duties to act as SME, using knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, industrial health, environmental and occupational safety regulations Conducts defined technical and/or project tasks within the environmental, health, and safety field, leading to the successful completion of assigned project(s) Performs other duties in support of department as needed and assigned Minimum Requirements     Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of Cal-OSHA safety regulations and safety related industry standards. Working knowledge of EPA, Cal-EPA, SCAQMD regulations and best management industry practices. Good project management skills. Experience with completing hazard inventories and risk assessments in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience leading and participating in EHS audits. Seven (7) years of combined laboratory and/or manufacturing/production experience (with an emphasis on EHS) in a private, public, government or military environment. Experience with understanding and implementing state and federal regulations (Cal-OSHA, Cal-EPA, OSHA, EPA). Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, environmental, or safety from an accredited university. Hazardous Materials Waste Management Certification (HMWM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) a plus. Seven years’ experience in EHS for manufacturing or R&D environment, preferably in pharmaceutical. Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with advanced Microsoft Office computer skills, especially in Excel. Proven ability to interact with others in a timely, informative, and professional manner. Ability to lead multi-functional project teams.
