JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Mule Driver is
responsible for safely and efficiently operating the mule in order to move
cargo and perform other tasks as needed in accordance with workload. The driver
is responsible for practicing safe work habits and for maintaining a clean and
safe work place environment.
Essential Functions

- Responsible
for operating mule in order to move cargo to and from the shipyard in
accordance with Sun Terminals policies - Able
to receive, understand, and execute instructions via radio in order to
accommodate logistical needs - Must
possess excellent driving skills in order to perform the duties of this
role in a safe, efficient, and timely manner - Must
have a valid DL, CDL prefered - Must
be able to perform the duties of this role in all weather conditions - Safely
securing equipment at the end of the shift in compliance with established
practice and procedures set by Sun Terminals - Ability
to perform preventative maintenance and safety checks in order to maintain
mule operational and within safety guidelines - Communicates
professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers. - Actively
participates in safety or educational training as required - Follows
all safety standards & guidelines, including but not limited to,
wearing of safety glasses, wearing of steel-toed/safety shoes, appropriate
safety gloves as needed, and proper attire - Performs
any other management requests or directives as requested
Work Environment
This position works in a port/terminal setting, with some outdoor
exposure during the workday. This position requires that the mule driver sit
for prolonged periods of time while operating the mule.
