King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, seeks an IT Program Manager to join our Information Technology department in Atlanta. Program Managers have full responsibility and accountability for planning large, complex programs and/or multiple projects and delivering defined outcomes within time deadlines, project budgets, available resources, and other constraints. The Program Manager will report to the Director of IT and will work closely with Program and Project Managers, IT Managers as well as other project stakeholders and firm personnel.

Candidates will have the following responsibilities:
- Technical and project management: A successful Program Manager demonstrates several key skills including the ability to:
- Focus on critical technical project elements including documenting and maintaining critical success factors for each project, schedules, financial reports, and issues log.
- Tailor both traditional and agile tools, techniques, and methods for each project.
- Make time to plan and thoroughly prioritize diligently.
- Manage project elements, including, but not limited to: schedule, cost, resources, and risks.
- Strategic and business management: Program Managers must possess strategic and business management skills and be knowledgeable enough about the firm to:
- Explain to others the essential business aspects of a project.
- Work with the project sponsor, team, and subject matter experts to develop an appropriate project delivery strategy.
- Implemental that strategy in a way that maximizes the business value of the project.
- Leadership: Program Managers must be able to guide, motivate, and influence a team over which they have no direct authority, demonstrating essential capabilities such as:
- Negotiation
- Resilience
- Communication
- Problem-solving
- Critical thinking
- Interpersonal skills
Successful candidates have at least 10 years of Project Management experience and 5 years in Program and Portfolio Management, at least 3 of which are in a large enterprise/multinational organization with multiple physical locations. A BA/BS in Project Management, Business, Information Technology or related discipline is required. Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, ITIL v3 Foundations Certification, or equivalent preferred. A skillset in scheduling, budgeting, communications, quality, risk, procurement and integration is required. Program Managers manage resources and activities across project teams, which can include internal clients, IT, other professional departments, external vendors and other stakeholders so communication skills are critical.
