Kingfisher Learning, Inc. is seeking a qualified and compassionate licensed child psychologist or pediatric neuropsychologist specializing in testing and assessment. The

position begins part-time but could grow into full-time over the next year (if

desired). You would join our small, established practice which offers psychoeducational assessments, parent and school-based special education consultations, and individual and group academic and executive skills coaching.

We seek a VT state licensed clinician to provide comprehensive evaluations and developmental screenings to help our children and families improve social and emotional development and academic success.

Typical evaluations include approximately a full day of testing, a day of writing, necessary calls/emails related to the evaluation, and participation in a one-hour follow- up meeting (typically remotely). You will be evaluating for language-based learning disabilities and other learning disorders, e.g., autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, mood disorders, cognitive delays, and other childhood difficulties.

This position is for you if

  • You have a mental health degree from a nationally accredited program.
  • You are licensed in Vermont as a psychologist.
  • You are available for at least 10 to 15 client hours/week.
  • You are detail-oriented, organized, and reliable.
  • You are an excellent listener and communicator in general.
  • You are able to write professional, clear, and relevant reports that include evidence-based recommendations.
  • You take client service seriously and place clients’ care as your top professional priority.
  • You are a team player and collaborate well with colleagues and other professionals.

How You Would Contribute To Our Team

  • Conduct psychological assessments and/or tests for diagnostic purposes
  • Develop appropriate and evidence-based recommendations that are specific
  • Educate family members on what they can do for their child or how to respond to certain behaviors
  • Attend school meetings when requested.
  • Provide complete documentation and records of assessments and treatments according to in-house policies

Responsibilities

This position will be primarily based in our Burlington, VT office, where you will also participate in monthly staff meetings. We contract with some school districts and provide some evaluation services on site (with reimbursement for travel time and mileage). When feasible, remote consultation and/or assessment is allowed. You will be responsible for providing services in a professional and qualified manner and are responsible for maintaining all required licensure, education, and supervision required by the state of Vermont. This position reports to the director, Melissa M. King, M.Ed.
