Overview
This role leads the team focused on the Product Development and the Product sourcing to ensure that it follows Kingfisher quality and compliance requirements and brings best value for customers and the business.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
* Products Development – Identifying opportunity for new product development and product improvement based on the sourcing and manufacturing knowledge. Exploits opportunities for component sourcing and leads the ‘Design to Cost’ process. Ensures compliance to Kingfisher quality requirements and delivers products with the optimum quality/cost ratio.
* Sourcing Strategy – Understanding where cost factors exist within the end-to-end value chain and the impact these can have on the design and manufacturing. Creates a strategy to optimise the cost, use industry insight and data to validate decision making. Negotiates commercial conditions to improve price competitiveness, deliver margin gains, improve payment terms, and reduce stocks at destination. Leads the negotiating process with vendors.
* Vendor Performance and Vendor Relationship management – Building and Maintaining excellent relationship with vendors that deliver long term value and benefits to the company. Establishes and develops a vendor strategy for the specific product category. Sources new vendors whilst at the same time develops and engages existing vendors. Manages vendor performance. Build, engage and maintain optimum vendor portfolio to maximize volume leverage while mitigating risks.
* Lead the team and develop people – Set clear focus, direction and priorities for the team. Leads the functional “diamond” collaboration within the team (Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality and MEX). Develops and retains talent within the team. Manages the annual performance management cycle for team members.
* Category Management – manages operational and financial category performance.
What you'll bring
* Over 10 years of experience in sourcing, buying and product development
* Regional or global scope
* Commercially aware, with good understanding of markets and customers and ability to adapt to different requirements
* Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
* Industrial purchasing techniques
* Proven successful track record in project management
* Balanced mix of strategy/ planning and execution management
* Excellent leadership and people management skills
* Resilience
* Degree holder in business management or similar is preferred
* Proven track record in sourcing industry and /or retail operations
* Fluent spoken and written English. Good communication in French and/or one of the following is an advantage: Mandarin, Cantonese, Polish or Turkish
