Position Purpose

Primary responsibility for provider relations management. Collaboration with a variety of venders to strategically align physician coverage in multiple specialty clinics. Accountable for onboarding/offboarding providers, provider data management and facilitating internal throughput of all recruitment and hiring efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Locum Management
    • Collaborates with various locum companies and all levels of leadership to identify physician strategies to ensure continuity of care in a variety of specialties. This includes rate negotiation, strategically filling schedule dates, identifying compliance and credentialing concerns and mitigating these concerns prior to arrival on site.
    • Accountable for the relationship with the physician and vender through the relationship.
    • Assists with developing strategy around recruitment of locums in a variety of specialties. Recruits new locum tenens providers as requested, within contract terms.
    • Verify assignment dates and rates, schedule hotels, assist responsible manager with department specific onboarding needs. Verify invoice accuracy and submit to the department manager.
  • Physician/Provider Relations Management
    • Is the primary onsite contact and onboarding specialist for all providers for interviews and relocation. Assists with travel and lodging arrangements and coordination of all aspects of the site visit.
    • Reviews self-query National Practitioner Data Bank to proactively identify potential red flags.
    • Calculates start date for recruited providers based on credentialing/privileging and payer enrollment timelines.
    • Oversight/Management of onboarding, offboarding and transfer processes for KHI providers.
    • Develops and maintain provider participation in the retention plan from onboarding through the third year of employment.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Responsible for leadership of the Onboarding Committee (includes medical staff, payer enrollment, human resources, health information management, payroll, information technology, department directors and project managers to ensure smooth integration of new medical provider functions into existing departments and processes.
    • Maintains working knowledge of all relevant bylaws, accreditation standards and policy/procedures to ensure compliance by providers and staff.
    • Serves as a resource, and collaborates with, providers and other staff to advance the quality of providers, patient safety in the facility through continual evaluation of policies, and procedures relative to physician services.
    • Facilitates communication between, and provides support to, the CMO, Vice President Physician Services, Directors, co-workers, and providers.

 Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in healthcare functions or comparable positions.
  • Knowledge/Skill:
    • Ability to communicate well, in verbal, written, and electronic form.
    • Proficient use of computer programs, to include the electronic medical record, Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheet applications, credentialing & privileging management databases, and use of audiovisual equipment.
    • Requires self-motivation, critical thinking, and ability to work independently.

Preferences

  • Education: Assocate degree or higher.
  • Certification: National Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification.
  • Experience: Previous medical office experience; medical terminology proficiency.
