As an Employee with Kings Staffing, you will join our team as an "Behavior Support One on One Paraprofessional " assisting with the correction and supporting a student emotional concerns.
Paraprofessionals provide instructional, behavioral, and other support to students in and outside of the classroom. ... Some paraprofessionals work with students in a special education classroom. Others may work with students in a general education classroom or rotate to support all the classes in a specific grade level
Position Summary:
The Paraprofessional is committed to supporting students with emotional disabilities and other health impairments gain academic and behavioral success in the special education and general education setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to implement small group academic supports
- Ability to teach and reinforce appropriate positive behaviors
- Ability to de-escalate and manage student in crisis
- Ability to collaborate with general and special education teachers to implement Positive Behavior Supports for student with Emotional Support needs
- Ability to work as a team member to create and reinforce a healthy classroom culture for staff and students.
- Completing other identified tasks
Qualifications:
- Behavioral management knowledge
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Successful experience working with student with Emotional Support needs (preferred)
- Detail-oriented and committed to collect specified behavioral data to support student programming
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work well as a member of a classroom and school team
- Results-oriented individual – a flexible thinker willing to do “whatever it takes.”
- Open to continuously develop behavioral management skills through professional development
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree, or at least 48 college credits, Preferred
- Experience working with adolescents, school-setting experience preferred
- Experience working with students receiving special education services
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as maneuvering in classrooms and physically supporting students in the classroom; Standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speak loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away, stooping, kneeling, fine finger and hand manipulation in use of a computer, chalkboard, dry erase board or projector.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
