Job Description
The Receptionist plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and safe school operations. They are the first face many parents, students, and community members see when they walk into a building. The Receptionist delivers excellent communication and customer service to families and visitors, while creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in our main office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Administrative responsibilities including answering door buzzers and phone calls, directing callers to the appropriate person or school, taking messages, and relaying messages to all entities
- Greets visitors, determining their needs and providing accurate information or connecting them with the appropriate stakeholder
- Handles family concerns and questions in a prompt and appropriate manner
- Acts as a strong, positive day-to-day interface with the school community, representing our values, mission, and philosophy at all times
- Supports school-wide communication efforts including maintaining front office fliers and supporting preparation and distribution of schoolwide communications
- Maintains accuracy of information systems including contact information, attendance, early and late pickup, bus ticket tracking, and owns dismissal changes and communication of this information to stakeholders
- Receives mail and deliveries and ensures items are appropriately distributed
- Supports the operations team with school-wide projects and responsibilities
- Maintains a clean, organized and well-functioning office environment
Qualifications
Must haves:
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team on collaborative projects
- Ability to remain calm and solutions-oriented in high-stress situations.
- Commitment to do whatever it takes to ensure our teachers and students have what they need to be successful
- Ability to build strong relationships with kids and their families
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral), including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly
- This job requires the individual to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, absent a legally required accommodation, pursuant to a New Jersey Executive Order and federal and state guidance.
Nice-to-haves:
- Previous experience in a customer service oriented role
