In the current school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region is comprised of four schools educating around 2,500 students, kindergarten through tenth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida:
KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 2nd grade, 6th - 8th grade
KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 7th grade
KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 10th grade
For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description
KIPP Impact Academy seeks paraprofessionals to support our ESOL students. The paraprofessional will be assigned one English Language Learner (ELL). Paraprofessionals will provide one-on-one support to the student throughout the school day.
Paraprofessionals will support students with classroom routines, classroom instruction, transitions, etc. Paraprofessionals will ensure that students receive accommodations according to their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Paraprofessionals will receive feedback from both the classroom teacher(s) and the school’s administration team.
These paraprofessionals follow the student’s schedule, which means they will work from 8:00a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Every Wednesday is a student early release day, so the work day for these paraprofessionals ends at 1:30 p.m on Wednesdays.
While KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools does employ some paraprofessionals in the standard model, these bilingual ESE paraprofessional positions are funded by student enrollment. If the student exits KIPP Jacksonville, the position will also end.

Qualifications
Associate’s Degree (Highly Qualified Status)
Bilingual - in this case the need is for fluency in both Spanish and English

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience working in an urban public school or charter school setting as a paraprofessional, a substitute, a tutor, or a similar role
Experience working with students at the elementary level
A long-term desire to be an educator
Multilingual
