We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as Associate Director, Scientific Communications within Global Medical Affairs Cell Therapy. This individual will lead strategic development and implementation of Scientific Communication Plan for assigned product or therapeutic area. This role will play a central role in development, review and approval of scientific materials for Medical Affairs teams in alignment with strategy. The Associate Director, Scientific Communications will work cross-functionally with Global Medical Affairs leads, Field medical teams and other cross-functional subject matter experts as well as key business partners to implement on tactics consistent with overall in-line and pipeline strategy. This position will report to the Director, Scientific Communications, Global Core Content. Responsibilities: Leads the development and update of a strategic scientific communication plan for the assigned product/therapeutic area Leads Global core content meetings for cross-functional alignment across relevant global and regional stakeholders Supports the development of standardized processes and systems that drive efficiency in strategic content creation Develops Global core content for Medical Affairs teams, including slide decks, FAQs, and other resources to support the scientific communications strategy. Maintains in-depth knowledge of medical communications trends and KPIs to drive updates/revisions to these materials Leads the cross-functional development of scientific communications platforms (SCPs). Ensures all MA content is up to date, aligned and consistent with medical plan Partners with MA colleagues across regions to ensure medical content addresses prioritized field needs Ensures appropriate review, approval, and roll-out of global core content. Maintains on-going communication with MA asset leads, MA Field team representatives and other relevant functions to ensure alignment of materials with departmental and business strategies Basic Qualifications: Doctorate and 2 years of Scientific Communications experience OR Master’s and 8 years of Scientific Communications experience OR Bachelor’s and 10 years of Scientific Communications experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 14 years of Scientific Communications experience Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree in pharmacy, medicine, or life science (PharmD, PhD, MD) At least 5 years of experience in content development with 3 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry Ability to influence without functional authority within a highly matrixed cross-functional environment Capable of motivating implementation within strict timelines and setting priorities, dealing with ambiguity and remaining focused on goals Ability to work independently Ability to manage multiple vendors, as necessary Prior experience in oncology or cell/gene therapy area preferred Does this sound like you? Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
