Preschool Teacher (AM - Part Time)

Kiwi’s Clubhouse of Pickerington is seeking to hire both a Preschool Teacher and a WeeSchool Teacher (2 1/2 year olds). These teachers will be responsible for our programs beginning in August. The creative structure of our program is divided into half-day classes.

The working hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 12:30pm (more hours are available if desired.)

The ideal candidate will be able to create, manage and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities in a play-based setting that provides opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives.

Job Requirements:

• Implement an early age curriculum in accordance with monthly goals.
• Use circle time and centers to enhance lesson plans and vary the instructional materials used.
• Assess the developmental needs of children and work to incorporate individual students' learning, physical and emotional needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely educational assessments and progress portfolios for all students assigned.
• Maintains ratios at all times, keeps attendance records of children throughout the day.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
• Communicates frequently with parents through conferences, newsletters, and in person.
• Ensures classroom management by setting rules and limits.
• Encourages students' positive self-image and supports individuality, independence, and creative expression.

EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALS:

• Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• A record of successful early childhood classroom experience also considered.

COMMUNICATION & INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• Strong organizational skills.
• Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creates a responsive and productive working relationship with parents, children, teachers, and other staff

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands refer to the level and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform critical tasks in support of critical job functions.

• Standing and walking throughout the majority of the shift
• Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
• Reaching overhead
• Stooping, crouching and kneeling
• The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech
• Visual acuity - near, far and peripheral vision

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
