Summary: Visionary leader of the HSE department for a rapidly expanding kp site in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia! Directs and coordinates activities to become best in class at a plastics manufacturing campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates a HSE vision and drives performance excellence through prevention, engineering, administrative, and PPE controls
Manages and oversees the direction of HSE at the campus through continuous improvement activities
Creates a HSSE management system and implements this within all functional areas of the organization
Provides the necessary expertise to improve HSE performance at the campus
Helps develop a HSE culture by hands on leadership and working with department managers to ensure performance is being met
Champion behavioral based safety program(s) at the campus and ensure tracking and improvement activities are driven to front line leadership
Manage overall campus security and provide strategic planning for improvement
Manage overall campus environmental reporting and provide strategic planning for improvement
Interface with regulatory agencies as needed and provide required HSE reports to local, state, and federal authorities
Maintain and improve the industrial hygiene program for the campus
Maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including operators, mechanics, vendors, contractors, peers, superiors and representatives of governmental agencies
Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from governmental regulations, procedures, files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals
Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a technical discipline, preferably related to the sciences of safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental engineering. MSci, Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist is strongly preferred. Minimum of eight years of professional work experience and/or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
