- Hands on day-to-day experience with conventional machines such as Manual Mills, Lathes, Grinders, precision assembly.
- Designs are electro-mechanical, and knowledge of mechanics and basic electronics is helpful.
- Works on assignments that are semi routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.
- Requires machine shop experience, ability to add and subtract decimals and fractions on drawings and measuring instruments such as caliper and scale, a solid understanding of shop math, and on the job training or trade knowledge equivalent to training received in a formal apprenticeship program.

Typically requires minimum of 5 years of experience.
