What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Specialist for Children and Adolescents position at Klamath Basin Behavioral Health?
As a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Residential Specialist for Children and Adolescents provides supportive services which promote the client's abilities to better benefit from behavioral rehabilitation treatment. This position works with BRS clients (Pine View and Treatment Foster Care) and their families, if applicable. The Residential Specialist for Children and Adolescents teaches youth and adolescents specific skills, such as anger management skills, social skills, self-regulation skills, etc., as identified on the client's BRS service plan.
Education and/or Experience: Minimum qualifications: (a) Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field: or (b) A combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training or experience. Additionally, must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, understand mental health assessment, treatment and service terminology and apply each of these concepts. Implement skills development strategies, and identify, implement and coordinate the services and supports identified in an ISSP. Previous experience working with youth preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Oregon driver’s license, insurable driving record. Personal automobile insurance is required if clients are transported or any agency business is conducted by the employee using his/her personal vehicle. Must meet the requirements to become MHACBO QMHA Certified. Certification must be maintained for the length of employment.
Driving is a requirement for this position. Proof of insurance must be provided to the HR department. Coverage must remain current.
