Service Technician

Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, bailers, lawn and garden equipment along with recreation and construction equipment too.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools.
• Maintain and repair farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, bailers, recreation, and construction equipment.
• Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments as necessary.
• Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, power tools, grinders, or saws.
• Record details of repairs made and parts used.
• Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
• Clean and lubricate parts.
• Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery.
• Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools.
• Maintains preventative maintenance program for all equipment. Identify and record all preventative maintenance requirements and document all actions in accordance with brand standards.
• Assures all equipment and functions comply with safety requirements. Complies with all safety rules and practices.
• Stay current with industry and brand certification trainings
• Weekly update to communication devices such as but not limited to, work computer and phone to ensure current and relative data.
• Assist Corporate Parts & Service Manager in the development, implementation, or evaluation of maintenance policies and procedures.
• Provides constructive input to foster process improvement within the department.
• Follow all job specific processes, procedures and safety requirements.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• · High School Diploma or GED certificate preferred.
• · Associate Degree in Agricultural Mechanization, or equivalent preferred.
• · Master Technician certification required and maintained.
• · 5 years’ experience in diesel technology, small engine repair, and/or agricultural implementation preferred.
• · Forklift Operator Certification required.
• · Ability to obtain certificates or licenses for specialty trades.
• · Excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and customer relation skills.
• · Basic computer skills.
• · Analytical/mathematics skills are essential.
• · Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• · Capable of handling multiple priorities and tasks.
• · Current Oregon Driver’s License with the ability to qualify for the KBE Drivers Program.
• · Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance at all times (specific standards available.)
