In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to contribute to developing new products, enhancing existing offerings, and addressing market needs while ensuring adherence to quality and cost objectives. Strong communication skills are crucial, as you will engage regularly with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. This position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including hands-on activities, office work, and proficiency in MRP/ERP software, SolidWorks, and specification development. The Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in incorporating new designs into SolidWorks and the MRP/ERP system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing department to implement and execute continuous improvement projects.
- Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, and Quality Control departments to address ongoing production and quality control issues.
- Support the Director of Product Development and Engineering Team in the development of new products and enhancement of existing offerings.
- Apply innovative thinking to develop smart fluid conveyance solutions, effectively addressing customer challenges.
- Provide valuable feedback and assistance to the Sales and Marketing team through product testing, development, and qualification of both new and existing product lines.
- Manage the ERP system by creating new part number setups, routings, work ticket templates, and other relevant details.
- Utilize SolidWorks to generate drawings for new designs and coordinate with suppliers to convert drawings into a the company design format.
- Collaborate with the Supply Management team to assess and onboard new suppliers, parts, manage availability, lead time, and integrate them into current production processes.
- Engage with production and extrusion personnel to brainstorm new concepts and streamline current product designs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Hiring Companies ATS Questions):
1. Do you have a strong understanding of hydraulics, hose assembly, thermoplastic hose extrusion, and assembly processes.
2. Do you have experience in Plastic Injection Molding is a plus.
3. Do you have a Bachelors degree in engineering preferred.
4. Do you have 5 years of experience in design engineering
5. Do you have experience with SolidWorks
6. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
