What are the responsibilities and job description for the CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR MANAGER position at KMEA?

KMEA is an environmental, energy, engineering and sustainability (E3S) consulting company providing professional engineering, scientific, and technical services to our clients throughout the United States and internationally.


KMEA is looking for an experienced infrastructure Construction Inspector Manager on remote US islands in the Pacific theater. These positions work across a broad range of disciplines including civil (wastewater) and electrical power distribution systems. Flexibility to travel to remote US sites that will require the person to be away from home of record up to 90 percent of the time. (This job is on a military installation in the Pacific Theater Islands; it is NOT located in San Antonio.)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs Title II construction inspection and oversight.
  • Provides design review and suggestions for correcting errors.
  • Review material, equipment, and commissioning submittals.
  • Supports construction contractor Requests-For-Information.
  • Notifies the Contracting Officer (CO) and COR of critical issues that may affect the contract performance and/or human health and the environment.
  • Follows company safety standards and site safety standards.
  • Understands and adheres to company policies.
  • Provides photographs and maintains daily log of construction activities.
  • Performs most assignments independently but consults with others and receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems.
  • Plans work and meets deadlines without supervisor action.

Qualifications

  • Must have a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in construction practices, procedures, and testing including at least three years of quality control management of DoD construction infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledgeable in computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
  • Candidate must be approved by Air Force prior to hire.
  • Knowledge of federal and DoD contracts.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), PowerPoint; familiarity and working knowledge of AutoCAD, or other software is also a plus.
  • Must be approved to work on a DoD installation.
  • Must be an organized, motivated and detail-oriented team player.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test, MVR check and federal government background check.
  • Must prove eligibility to work in the US.
  • Must provide proof of COVID 19 vaccination.

Flexibility to travel to remote US sites that will require the person to be away from home of record up to 90 percent of the time.
