What are the responsibilities and job description for the Qualified Navy Validator position at KMS SOLUTIONS?
KMS Solutions LLC is a technical management/solutions company that specializes in engineering, analysis, and cyber security. Founded in 2005, KMS is a certified small business with over a decade and a half of experience supporting the Department of Defense as well as many other departments and programs critical to our Nations security and well-being. We are actively seeking Navy Qualified Validators.
Duties:

- Must be appointed as a Navy Qualified Validator Certification (NQV) Level II or III in good standing
- An Information Assurance certification in compliance with DoD 8570 (e.g. Security ) (IAT Level II) or (IAT Level III) is required
- 2-5 Years of practical experience in a Cybersecurity, Engineering, T&E or A&A related field
- Experience independently performing the NQV Level II activities defined in the Navy's Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process Guide (RPG)
- Access to/ Experience with DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) & Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) both NIPR and SIPR
- Experience with IA / INFOSEC concepts and requirements: Firewall Policy, Ports & Protocols, Cybersecurity, DoD A&A processes and standards etc.
- Experience with the Defense Information Systems Agency published Security Technical Information Guidance (STIG) requirements and compliance process
- Ability to manage time well to meet assigned milestones
- Experience working with distributed teams
The Navy Risk Management Framework Process Guide (RPG) defines the Validator as an independent third party who assesses and validates that a system has implemented the approved security control baseline. The Validator is solely responsible for assessing the system that is provided – not for developing the Security Authorization Package or engineering the system, that is required from the program/Information System Security Engineer (ISSE). The Validator should utilize the SCA as an advisor to assist in all matters of validation, documentation, vulnerability mitigation, and residual risk determination.
