WHAT YOU GET TO DO
The primary function of a Travel Coordinator involves finding and arranging appropriate modes of travel, such as flights and rental cars, as well as making reservations at the hotels, motels, or other forms of lodging. The logistical aspect of transporting groups of people from one location to another requires a great deal of planning and organization, and making arrangements is an essential part of a Travel Coordinator’s job responsibilities.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist, arrange, and/or approve flight, hotel, and vehicle bookings
- Research and identify optimal travel alternatives
- Make sure that travel complies with Knapp company policy
- Ensure we utilize vendor discounts established for Knapp or our customers to optimize savings in travel
- Ensure that travel information is accurate
- Communicate with employees, supervisors, and travel agencies with professionalism, clarity, and accuracy
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Manage multiple Outlook Inboxes and have an excellent level of organizational skills
- Understand complex logistical information and demonstrate high attention to detail
- Perform moderate clerical and administrative duties
- Serve as a back up to the Travel Manager in their absence
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the travel engine utilized (Worldspan)
- Conduct travel training and orientation to new employees when needed
