Job Summary:

Maintenance helpers mechanically assist in troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing all the components of concrete and asphalt plant facilities including pump stations, conveyor systems, rail yards and plumbing. Identifying and repairing mechanical failures and implementing preventative maintenance applications. Assist and troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines. Helping around the shop and offices to help keep a clean workspace and adhere to all safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Basical computer skills.
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
- Ability to pay attention to details with problem solving skills.
- Basic understanding of hand tools and how to use them safely.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
An individual in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions.
These examples DO NOT include all of the duties in which the individual may be expected to perform.

- Wash and clean equipment thoroughly.
- Keep equipment running and maintained properly to maximize production and quality.
- Troubleshoot and complete maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Use cutting torch.
- Operate lifting devices and equipment.
- Assist in lubricating and fueling equipment.
- Report written information accurately on timecards, shop repair orders, and other reports daily.
- Clean work areas and execute other duties as assigned.
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills
- Must be able to work independently (self-starter, self-driven, takes initiative)
- Extensive walking and standing, walking on uneven surfaces, exposure to dust, mists, adhesives and acids.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 Lbs. Frequent and/or extended periods of kneeling, bending, standing and or twisting.
- Hand and Eye coordination
- Ability to work at night under artificial lighting.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including cold, hot, wet and dry for extended periods of time.
