Tasks Required of a Construction Manager:
- Confer with supervisory personnel, regional manager, contractors, and our customer to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, progress, or construction problems.
- Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines.
- Prepare and submit progress reports.
- Confer with safety personnel to review safety procedures.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed.
- Develop or implement quality control programs.
- Interpret and explain plans to administrative staff and workers.
- Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
- Direct and supervise construction or related workers.
- Determine crew requirements for ongoing and anticipated work.
- Request supplies or materials from customer to complete construction projects.
- Track materials used per job/project.
- Be able to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
- Construction Knowledge of materials, methods, manpower and equipment needed.
- English Language Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Administration and Management Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Telecommunication Technology Knowledge of the practical application of construction of telecommunication systems by applying principles, approved techniques, procedures, and safely utilizing the proper equipment.
- Mechanical Knowledge of industry (telecommunications) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Public Safety Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, DOT and OSHA regulations and strategies to maintain a safe working environment for the public.
- Clerical Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
