What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Data & Analytics position at Knock?
Knock is hiring a Director of Data & Analytics, a senior leader with a deep passion for creating data-driven organizations that empower everyone at the company with the trusted data they need to make decisions. This leader can instill a clear vision for how data can transform company strategy and culture, and knows how to align people, process, and technology to deliver a robust, democratized data & analytics architecture. As a Director of Data & Analytics, you will:
- Lead data & analytics strategy across Knock, continuing to build on the vision, strategy, standards, and roadmap for data architecture, governance, and business intelligence
- Lead the continued build and growth a sustainable data & analytics architecture that is trusted by stakeholders and remains future-proof to evolutions in the business
- Build and grow a data-first culture and mindset across Knock through training, communication, programs, and processes
- Lead, grow, mentor, and champion your team of data engineers, architects, analysts, and practitioners—to build a team culture that celebrates wins, learns from losses, and gets your Knockstars excited to come to work every day!
- Partner with leaders across Knock to align business strategy & objectives with data & analytics strategy
- Help ensure company compliance with applicable data protection laws, regulations, and industry standards in collaboration with our Compliance, Legal, Engineering, Finance, and operations teams
- Collaborate with and regularly report to Knock’s senior leadership team on data initiatives, capabilities, and emerging priorities
- Develop and grow a organization that treats data as a first-class citizen, balancing team scale, culture, process, and tooling to level up all parts of the company
- Provide principled leadership while creating a positive work environment that encourages collaboration from the rest of Knock
Experience & Skills:
- 7 years of experience in Data & Analytics; 3 years of experience leading
- Deep experience (both technical and strategic) in all facets of data & analytics
- Leadership experience, including strategic vision-setting, growing happy and high-impact teams, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration
- An infectious passion for high-quality data and its impact on an organization
- Experience in building and maturing all aspects of the data lifecycle, from initial metric identification through to business intelligence & decision-making
- Strong experience in modern data technology stacks, including production experience building and managing Snowflake and Tableau
- Customer-first mindset and a history of building strong data cultures through education and mentorship
- Ability to prioritize and manage across multiple, often time-sensitive initiatives
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Believe in creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices and programs that will further Knock’s commitment to making an impact, learning, putting people first, being open, and courageous
- Have proven success working 100% remote in prior positions & are experienced working with a distributed, national team
- Education: High school or equivalent experience
