SUMMARY:
Ensures item deliveries by hauling interplant mail, labels, and lab samples.
This is a part time position working approximately 4 hours a day Monday through Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivers interplant mail by sorting and hauling items between locations.
Daily conducts both a pre-trip (at beginning of day) and post-trip (at end of day) inspection of the messenger vehicle. The inspection includes checking of fluid levels (i.e. oil, antifreeze, windshield wiper fluids – adding where necessary) checking tires to make sure they are properly inflated, and notifying fleet mechanics of any need for repairs. Driver responsible for keeping van clean and free of clutter.
Follows safe driving practices, conducts himself/herself in a professional, courteous manner as a representative of Knouse Foods. Projects a positive image of the company by maintaining well-groomed appearance (includes wearing a company uniform).
Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Contributes to the company effort by continually looking for ways to improve productivity and customer orientation within department by use of better technology, procedures, and use of resources.

Education/Knowledge/Experience:
Ø Requires knowledge that is acquired through a high school degree or its equivalent in experience.
Ø Ability to stand, sit, walk, carry and lift items up to 80lbs.- with assistance
Ø Ability to communicate in English and understand information one-on-one.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
Note: Messenger Truck Driver must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license and provide Knouse Foods post-offer permission to conduct a 3-year DMV report, successfully complete a post-offer fitness test by the Company designated medical examiner, and successfully complete post-offer a road test conducted by a Knouse Foods management employee.
