What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker position at Knox College?
Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, Food Service Worker-General is responsible for a variety of tasks in relation to dining room service and front of the house operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess basic math and reading skills
- Possess a customer service mentality and be able to effectively interact with students and guests Ability to function in a high stress environment
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Ability to continuously stand and walk for the duration of an assigned shift
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks related to dining room service and front of the house operations Prepare food items while adhering to strict food safety handling protocols
- Work effectively as a team contributor and be able to resolve conflicts autonomously with students and staff
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
- Clean all work areas and complete prep work 15 minutes prior to end of shift to allow manager or lead cook/crew leader to double check work areas
- Maintain clean prep areas, coolers, shelves, and floors in all work areas
- Complete and return appropriate temp and sanitation logs lo manager at the end of each shift Maintain mandated cooler shelf storage order guidelines
- Maintain high standards of sanitation
- Inform manager of damaged and unsafe equipment that needs to be repaired or replaced Work catering as deemed necessary for operational needs
- Other food service worker tasks may be assigned, if necessary, based on business needs
Pay Rate will be based on current Union Contract
