Youth Case Manager

Knox County Homeless Coalition
Rockland, ME Full Time
POSTED ON 11/21/2023 CLOSED ON 12/9/2023

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Case Manager position at Knox County Homeless Coalition?

Knox County Homeless Coalition (KCHC) is looking for a compassionate team player who wants to join us in our mission to end the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Mid-coast Maine. We are currently interviewing for a Youth Case Manager to support our Transitional Living Program residents and other youth in the community!

The Landing Place (TLP) is KCHC’s comprehensive youth program which provides support for highly-resilient and often marginalized youth living in Midcoast Maine. We strive to inspire hope, restore purpose and belonging, and break cycles of poverty through outreach, case management, shelter solutions, and a drop-in youth center.

The Case Manager will play a critical role at The Landing Place, supporting high-risk youth clients by helping them to identify needs and goals; advocating for them in the community; and connecting them with appropriate resources. Case Managers are a key part of helping to achieve the agency’s mission on a daily basis. They help to identify and build on strengths, always treat clients with dignity and respect, and ultimately become trusted partners who help clients to reach sustainable independence.

All staff embrace a strength-based, trauma-informed approach to youth development, act as community advocates on behalf of high-risk youth and families, and develop collaborative partnerships and supportive relationships with local partners throughout the Midcoast. We seek caring, honest, creative, and supportive staff members who are collaborative-minded, solutions-oriented, non-judgemental, and capable of maintaining perspective, as well as a sense of humor. Our staff are passionate about working with teenagers and have a proven ability to support others in caring, courageous and inspiring ways.

The ideal Case Manager candidate will have 3-5 years of case management experience with relevant training in the human service/mental health field. BA in social work or related field is required. Knowledge of community resources and services for children and adolescents, a plus!

This position will pay $19 - $22 / hour, based on experience. This role may also include sharing in the ‘on call’ area of responsibility which is divided among a few team members. This individual would also need to be willing and able to fill in for youth shelter staff if/as needed. Additional compensation will be provided for on-call time. KCHC offers a competitive salary and benefits, including employer-supported health insurance plans (employer pays up to 95% and contributes to a health savings account), optional dental and vision plans, life insurance, short term disability insurance, retirement plan with a 3% employer match, paid time off (starting at three weeks per year), 14 paid holidays (including your birthday!), and additional time off in the summer.

Background and license checks are required prior to hire.

To apply, please submit a resume and a cover letter explaining why you would be a great fit for our team to careers@homehelphope.org with the job title in the subject line. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
