A host is the first person to meet a guest when they enter a restaurant, and they’re in charge of the beginning part of the dining experience.
Host or Hostess Responsibilities
- Greeting guests
- Taking reservations and managing them
- Managing a wait-list
- Communication wait times to guest
- Managing seating chart
- Seating guests and distributing menus
- Cleaning and to-go orders
- Cash handling and responsible for closing out paid tickets
Work experience
- 1-2 years of experience in a full-service restaurant preferred
Qualifications
- Upbeat, outgoing and positive
- Must be able to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills
- Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment
