Manager, Market Intelligence - Consumer Market Insights (CMI) 

Who You Are What You’ll Do: 

Manager, Market Intelligence supports Kobie as part of the CMI (Consumer Market Insights) team, and will focus on translating Kobie’s POVs, case studies, performance stories and other IP into market-facing stories and materials.  

Our ideal candidate is a capable “hunter and gatherer” of information with a voracious appetite to perform deep research from a wide array of resources and using a variety of tools. In this role, you will have the opportunity to channel your intellectual curiosity and synthesize your findings into template-able, useful thought leadership pieces.  

Your Day to Day:  

  • Lead the consumer and market learning agenda to address Kobie’s and our client’s objectives while demonstrating holistic thinking, strategic agility, and leadership to all levels of internal stakeholders. 
  • Use a variety of industry secondary resources to collect, analyze and synthesize consumer and market learning to tell a cohesive and actionable story.  
  • Continually investigate and assess new secondary resources to ensure our input sources provide relevant and up-to-date insights. 
  • Organize and write point-of views, white papers, articles and other content to inform client consulting work and external Kobie thought leadership. 
  • Execute primary research on behalf of our clients and Kobie, sourcing syndicated scanner and panel data when needed.  
  • Collaborate across departments to develop and manage a proactive content and editorial calendar which will serve as a roadmap for content development.  
  • Create and share consumer and market insight thought leadership with cross-functional teams, providing strategic partnership with SIPP teammates, Client Services, Innovation, Corporate Marketing, Sales, and other partners as needed. 
  • Manage external suppliers to execute research projects efficiently.  
  • Effectively manage CMI budget to proactively address both immediate and forward-looking strategic needs.  
  • Communicate consumer insights, recommendations, and point of view in a clear and concise manner, both through written and verbal communication.  
  • Develop and enhance CMI standards and procedures for use company-wide.  
  • Support CMI planning, development and project management activities. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience That You Will Need to Be Successful in This Role: 

  • 3-5 years of consumer and market insights experience with a research firm, agency, brand, ideally with exposure to customer loyalty and loyalty marketing principles. 
  • Highly effective communication, including exceptional editorial and writing skillset (with portfolio and/or writing samples that demonstrate individual’s track record). 
  • Clearly and effectively engages with all levels of Kobie’s and our clients’ organizations and with industry trade publication reporters and spokespeople.  
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging consumer insights to drive business results.  
  • Able to develop objective point-of-view and feel very comfortable sharing it, be seen as strategic thought leader on team, build constructive rapport with internal clients and outside research suppliers and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity. 
  • Strong knowledge of marketing and market research fundamentals including experimental design, and statistics 
  • Working knowledge of the following:  
  • Data analysis reports and insights 
  • Consumer and need state segmentation, profiling, and immersion  
  • Concept/Product ideation, development and validation  
  • Test and learn approaches  
  • Cultural/Lifestyle trends in loyalty, marketing, and emotional motivators  
  • Excellent planning and project management skills. 
  • Technical/Other Skills Required include Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Teams, Sharepoint 

Education: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field required.  
  • Masters Degree preferred.
