Description
Our Georgia-Pacific Wauna Mill in Clatskanie, OR is seeking an innovative and forward thinking individual to join our team as a Electrical Engineer . The Electrical Engineer plays a crucial role in new capital and maintenance projects by maintaining equipment reliability through design and execution of effective programs to develop management strategies to manage risk and mitigate the consequences of failures. Thorough knowledge and effective application of condition monitoring is also required to identify early detection of pending failures. The electrical engineer also provides the necessary technical expertise to improve equipment reliability by evaluating and redesigning equipment and systems.
This position will utilize a core set of principles to drive continuous improvement in safety and performance. What You Will Do In Your Role
- Project manage execution of both maintenance and small to medium-size capital projects (typically under $500K)
- Provides engineering support for capital and expense projects
- Provides engineering support to Maintenance and Operations (troubleshooting, problem solving, cost estimating and implementation of electrical design solutions)
- Provide support to operational areas with emphasis on short and long-term reliability improvements
- Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement with asset and site reliability
- Review plans for new equipment and contribute to the Design for Reliability process by validating reliability and maintainability of the systems
- Actively participate in design and implementation of Asset Improvement Strategies for systems to improve production and uptime
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 3 or more years of electrical design and/or project management experience working with high voltage applications
What Will Put You Ahead
- Currently has or can get a PE license as an Electrical Engineer
- Experience with pulp and paper manufacturing technology and systems
- Experience with valves and instrumentation specification
- Experience with: Three phase power distribution, 480V three phase motors AC/DC drives and motors, switchgear, transformers, etc.
