The Georgia Pacific Hattiesburg, MS Napkin converting facility is currently seeking a Shift E&I Technician. The primary purpose of this role is to troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain all Electrical equipment in a paper converting manufacturing facility to ensure production continuity and efficiency. This role reports to the Shift Team Leader and will interact regularly with internal employees, and mill leadership. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This is a rotating 12-hour schedule. This position has a starting pay of $20.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience.

What You Will Do
- Follow all mill SAFETY standards and guidelines
- Safely troubleshoots, services, repairs, and installs light and heavy-duty paper converting machinery and related equipment.
- Diagnoses equipment electrical problems and determines repairs needed.
- Responds to Leadership and/or operator requests to troubleshoot and repair equipment that is down.
- Frequently uses blueprints, schematic drawings, diagrams, and manuals to determine the correct repairs needed.
- Uses and maintains common hand tools, special tools, and equipment to service and maintain large complex machinery.
- Utilizes precision measuring equipment such as volt meters
- Safely and efficiently uses hoists, lift trucks, scissors lifts and other equipment to install and service equipment.
- Dismantles machines using wrenches, hammers, crowbars, torches and other hand and power tools.
- Completes all project work as assigned.
- Other mill maintenance duties as assigned.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Keeps tools clean, neat, and orderly.
- Assist operators and other maintenance personnel with machine start-ups, shut-downs, PM's, rebuilds, new installations, relocations, etc.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three (3) years or more of electrical experience in industrial manufacturing or the military OR a two (2) year technical degree with one (1) year or more of electrical experience in industrial manufacturing or the military
- Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLC's, A/C and D/C motors, motor controllers and drives
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
What Will Put You Ahead
- Capability of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all electrical equipment in the manufacturing facility
- Capability to use diagnostic testing equipment
- Capability of PLC programming and troubleshooting in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Capability of safely operating cranes, lift trucks, scissors lifts, man lifts and other equipment
- Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs
- Basic use of Auto-Cad and related programs
