What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Business Analyst position at Koddi?

The Koddi product team is looking for a Business Analyst to help develop best in class technology solutions for our customers and partners. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual should excel at: writing user stories, conducting detailed research, synthesizing stakeholder requests into well-defined product requirements, driving go-to-market execution, and collaborating with engineering on product development. Previous experience working as a product owner, product analyst or software engineer is a plus.  Strong experience in ad-tech as well as with search and display would be a plus, in particular with experience working on supply side or demand side platform development.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Research business problems. When assessing the business model, the BA figures out the business owner’s main points of pain or what market gap they try to fill in or expand
  • Write user stories. Be able to describe a feature from the end-user’s point of view and ensure user flow matches the approved business value and goal
  • Translate the product vision and requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories for the development team. 
  • Establish acceptance criteria that determines whether a feature satisfies both a stakeholder and the end-user
  • Effectively communicate acceptance criteria to the development team, to ensure feature development meets the business needs for the release
  • Prioritization of product and/or release backlogs, and conducting backlog grooming/refinement sessions with the respective team
  • Facilitate conversations with stakeholders regarding features in development, obtaining feedback, and making decisions on which feedback items should become part of the backlog
  • Adjust user stories accordingly and close the feedback loop with stakeholders
  • Advocate for end users and customers – the voice of the customer and the voice of the market – to bring an understanding of our customer’s workflow and its challenges to the team
  • Participate in all relevant sprint meetings, including daily meetings, sprint planning, review, retrospective sessions, and backlog grooming
  • Provide demos and materials to support a successful go to market plan, launch and adoption of new features and functionality
  • Standardize the process of writing stories and software requirements
  • Support the product manager in drafting non-functional requirements (e.g., system’s quality attributes such as usability, security, reliability, performance, availability, speed and scalability)
  • Support the product manager in drafting functional requirements (product features that engineers implement to allow users to achieve their goals).
  • Support the product manager in products’ strategic vision and defining the roadmap 
  • Complete high level product testing, in support of the QA team, to ensure the definition of done is achieved during development.


WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU BRING
  • 3 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Product Owner or Developer in an Agile development environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Information Science, Math, Computer Science, Operations, Business or related disciplines
  • Professional experience in gathering requirements, creating documentation, and user stories
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized, able to prioritize, handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Experience with APIs, data translation, and industry best practices
  • Have a passion for technology and strong technical ability (e.g., understanding of software development languages and techniques; understanding of APIs and databases) in order to communicate effectively with software developers
  • Understanding of the technical architecture of complex and highly-scalable SaaS and web-based applications
  • Experience with Agile software development / Scrum methodology
  • Experience with SQL and Excel
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Self-motivated and results focused
  • Growth mindset and able to learn quickly
  • Must be an analytical thinker, problem solver and be able to make decisions 
  • Proficient research skills, logical thinking, and presentation skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and coordinate with multiple parties involved in intricate, fast moving projects with tight deadlines

  • Development experience
