Director - Corporate Finance

Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President & Corporate Controller,
this position is responsible for the coordination of the financial forecast and
financial/strategic planning processes at Kohler Co. the Corporate lead on
significant analytical projects, Corporate liaison with mergers/acquisitions
and divestures, creator of Board of Director and CEO communications and
presentations, champion and influencer for Finance Change the Work (CTW), lead for
Finance strategic talent objective and Finance Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
(DEI) champion. This position must
maintain the highest level of integrity and candor to all key management levels
of the business and Kohler Co.
Specific Responsibilities
- Own the Financial Forecast consolidation and process for Kohler Leadership Team (KLT) as well as the consolidation and process of the Financial and Strategic plan for Kohler Co.
- Manage process revamp on current forecasting process to create flexibility and insights in a more agile way with scenario outputs. Drive credibility in the output at all levels.
- Coordinate the financial and strategic plan schedule, including meeting dates and due dates for material necessary to support Corporate needs.
- Review business unit and Group financial plans for reasonability and reality.
- Work with business units and Groups to understand assumptions and inputs driving financial plans and forecasts.
- Consolidate Groups data and prepare the Consolidated financial plan.
- Develop the balance sheet and cash flow plans and forecasts for Corporate and Consolidated levels.
- Propose and maintain appropriate reporting templates for Financial Plan and Forecast.
- Champion Finance CTW projects and ideas: shorten end to end financial plan process, 18 month rolling forecast, Costing COE, and shorten the monthly close process .Align resources, liaison with the business to influence and drive change. Assist teams with prioritization, communicate, change management and execution. Will require working closely with businesses, SWAT team and FP&A resources to execute change.
- Create and instill a program for global Finance LPP/HPP leadership development. Enhance and revise current program for Finance trainees and interns. Consider a more focused approach that partners more intensely with a few key schools.
- Establish content material, classes, development plans, advise on coaching/mentoring needs for LPP/HPP associates.
- Develop rotations for LPP/HPP talent to move into the business and back into Finance. Key areas within the business include: manufacturing, marketing, sales.
- Refine competency models/success profiles.
- Embed culture change and new ways of working.
- Champion DEI for Finance.
- Develop enhanced capability around decision support, strategic insight, partnership, data science, and business analytics.
- Corporate Liaison for Mergers and Acquisition activities. Work with M&A and key finance associates to develop, lead and execute the Finance integration workstreams and educate new business on Kohler Finance processes (close, plan, forecast, etc) to ensure smooth integration. For Divestures, assist with analysis on gain/loss on sale as well as assisting with the data room material and gathering of insights for questions raised upon due diligence. Assist with any audit inquiries as needed around M&A activity.
- Lead on Executive communications and presentations. Assist CFO and CEO with Financial communications for Board of Directors, Executive Management Team and Kohler Leadership Team meetings, Townhalls – Finance and Enterprise Functions, as well as Quarterly Business updates.
- Key advisor and resource to help drive advanced technological capabilities such as predictive analytics and forward looking orientation.
- Actively search for feedback improvement opportunities as well as best in class finance organizations to bring back to Kohler.Own the Hackett comparison as well as other surveys to ensure Kohler Finance is delighting its customers. Drive enhancements and change management on improvement actions.
Skills/Requirements
- College degree in the field of Accounting or Finance
required. An MBA or CPA is preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years experience in related
positions.

The salary range for this position is $170,200 - $221,750. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
