This position is responsible for supplier selection and procurement functions directly associated with the needs for materials and services. These products and services are to be secured at cost, quality, and delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance standards
- Procuring material to support OEM and Aftermarket Sales.
- Develop and evaluate qualified suppliers.
- Maintain and control material costs.
- Monitor supplier delivery and quality performance.
- Manage the overall supplier relationship.
- Identify purchasing trends and supplier reduction strategies.
- Knowledge of the business strategy of your employer and suppliers.
- Keeping up to date with the latest purchasing techniques.
- Review and resolve supplier performances issues.
- Develops standard costs based on market economic factors and projected price changes.
- Creation of purchase orders to external suppliers to support OEM and aftermarket sales.
- Prepares and analyzes requests for quotations.
- Ensure orders are received to quality specifications from suppliers on the required due dates through expediting and overall order management.
- Resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies including pricing, quantity and/or shipping/receiving issues.
- Maintain and control material costs. Provide support to cost reduction teams.
- Maintain suppler information records, lead-times, source list, material master data, purchase orders and MRP related settings.
- Review and resolve supplier performance issues.
- Keep up to date with the latest purchasing techniques and industry advances.
- Facilitate the overall supplier relationship.
- Creation and analysis of reports as specified by management.
- May be required to perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations or Business. An Associate's degree in combination with relevant experience and training will be considered.
- Must possess analytical/critical thinking skills.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Strong relational skills, ability to work with all departments, fosters teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Work with a high degree of accuracy and have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a strong focus on customer service.
- Working knowledge of SAP and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Must be willing to travel as needed.
Experience:
- 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Working knowledge of SAP and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Procurement activities related to custom manufacturing, machining & fabrication, of products for heavy industry, specifically related to open pit mining and steelmaking.
- Blueprint experience a plus.
