Job Responsibilities
Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities of the Rock, Hill, SC Performance Chemicals facility, to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished to meet business requirements.
- Leads all aspects of the daily operations of the facility to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
- Promotes and encourages safe work practices, environmental stewardship, and the principles of Responsible Care. Promotes and maintains the positive reputation within the community.
- Oversees and directs the assignments of the Rock Hill Operations Leadership Team to meet business requirements. Regularly mentors and develops Rock Hill team members.
- Tracks the planned expenses and capital spending for the site and works with Corporate Finance to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley protocols.
- Develops and fosters an open environment by encouraging open communications among team members. Provides constructive performance feedback and coaches employees to improve performance.
- Interacts with local, State and Federal agencies to maintain and grow these importantrelationships.
- Effectively manages the deployment of all resources for the facility.
- Provides the required reporting structure that tracks and demonstrates the successful operation of the facility.
- Maintains confidentiality of company information (policies, salaries, expenditure, etc.).
- Responds to changing customer demands while maintaining the integrity of the operations of the plant.
- Reporting relationships: 4 peers, 6 direct reports and up to 50 indirect reports.
- Up to 10% travel required and available evenings and weekends for consultation as required.
- Member and active contributor to the PC Operations Leadership Team.
- Responsible for the daily operations of the plant with a primary emphasis on safety, health and environmental compliance, financial and production performance, and training and development of employees/.
- Champions the facilities Zero Harm & Zero Waste culture.
- Leads the facility to ensure all Team Members abide by the Koppers Like Saving Rules and SH&E Policies
Qualifications
- BS Degree in an Engineering, Chemistry, or Operations discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of operations experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of managing people.
- Experience with Change Management and leadership development.
- Experience in financial reporting, with a knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley protocols.
- Safety, health, environmental awareness. Experience with Responsible Care is a plus.
- Displays an affinity for the facilities location and works to achieve operational excellence.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to interact with customers, suppliers, contractors and peer groups in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated Leadership and Communication skills across all levels of a Manufacturing facility.
