What are the responsibilities and job description for the Treating Operator position at Koppers Inc.?
Job Summary:
Responsible for proper treatment of utility poles and other products. Ensures proper treating formulas are utilized on treating products in a manner that meets company, government, and safety regulations.
· Ensures all duties abide by the SHE policies while performing tasks resulting in a quality product treated to customer specifications.
· Responsible for the treating operation running safely, efficiently, and economically.
· Operate transfer deck, load charges, treat charges and receive chemicals.
· Enter material and requirements for treatment in computer.
· Monitor and mix chemicals to meet needed concentrations.
· Communicate with QC daily regarding treating results.
· Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
· Responsible for proper handling and storage of hazardous waste.
· Communicate and with and help maintenance diagnose and repair problems within the plant.
· Maintain records for all material treated.
· Ensure the final product meets customers specifications.
· Perform other duties needed to maintain the operation of the facility.
· Enter in confined spaces to help do repairs and clean areas.
· Be able to be licensed to use pesticides.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required. Relevant work experience preferred.
· Must have good basic math skills.
· Must be medically able to wear a full-face respirator.
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Team player
· Experience with Microsoft Office Products
· Ability to set priorities and analyze problems
· Previous heavy equipment operation a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
