Job summary:
The Cost Analyst is primarily responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling financial statements and accounts, and ensuring data accuracy for Chattanooga & Laurel Hill location Inventory Cost. This person will work closely with the Cost Controller to maintain proper documentation for audit files.
What you will do in this role:
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare cost entries and monthly cost reports/presentations.
- Maintain the General Ledger in ERP System.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis as documented in procedures
- Ensure all accruals and provisions are recorded and the balances are adequate and substantiated by the appropriate documentation
- Maintain cost accounting system through collecting, reporting, and analyzing accurate costs
- Perform monthly analysis of cost structure for manufacturing operations
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products
- Oversee Physical Inventory of Finished Goods and Spare Parts
- Assist with annual budget process.
- Ensure interim period closing procedures & schedules comply with management direction & requirements.
- Perform special financial/costs studies and analysis as required by management. Record and maintain inter-company activities
- Other duties as assigned
What qualifications and competencies you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3 years experience, manufacturing perferred
- Strong PC skills using MS Office
- Experience with AS400, preferred
- Must be high analytical, team oriented, with a high level of professionalism
- Flexibility to travel for meetings, benchmark visits, training and occasionally do off shift work.
- Ability to successfully lead projects to completion in a timely basis .
- Communication skills will be key, with the person in this role needing to be able to communicate well one-on-one and with groups of employees and customers.
- Must be highly organized and self-directed to proactively identify and address issues
- Must be able to bend down, stretch, walk long distances, climb stairs and steps
- Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods on hard surfaces
- Must be able to lift light loads (10-15lbs)
