Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and Quality to translate operational business forecasts into raw and packaging material needs.
- Support all cross divisional activities and lead designated cross functional tasks to support the centralization of the buying function across the organization in all regions and business units.
- Create and deploy raw data and pack requirements for KOST’s supply base (over 80) suppliers.
- Review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) recommendations by working closely with the Sales & Operations Planning (S &OP) team and issue purchase orders accordingly.
- Monitor and maintain the ETA/date maintenance of open purchase orders.
- Update the master data in AX by building lead time, MOQ, safety stock and other key aspects.
- Build and maintain operational partnerships with suppliers as the primary interface for PO issuance, delivery status, and order issue resolution.
- Partner with suppliers with the primary goal of ensuring on-time and in-full (OTIF) performance.
- Proactively communicate internally when material-related issues arise, while simultaneously mitigating potential customer impacts.
- Develop and deploy reports related to material coverage, supply run-out, inventory totals, and additional reports required to plan both supply and production.
- Partner with the Warehouse Manager to meet inventory targets while minimizing costs and avoiding obsolescence.
- Support new product/customer launches by being the first point of contact for new/changing Supply Chain needs.
- Directly contribute to the reporting and improvement of OTIF measures at a company-wide level.
- Contribute to the execution of a new ERP-system roll-out as it pertains to the business planning area.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook.
- Experience managing complex data sheets with VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc. is required.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems; previous/current experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, with ability to incorporate data from bills of material, individual customer sales forecasts, historical offtakes, and business strategies, into forecasts that can be executed by KOST’s supply chain team.
- Strong analytical skills, including ability translate multiple inputs into accurate, usable forecasts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including ability to transform data into sensible business recommendations.
- Passion for building internal and external relationships, with an ability to be cooperative while also exerting influence.
- Results-driven, with desire to continuously improve and deliver hands-on execution.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to given presentations for functional expertise area both internally and externally.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of material planning in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to heat or cold and risk of electrical shock.
- The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
