KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Conflicts of Interest to join our Risk Management organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply an introductory understanding of the applicable conflict of interest rules and professional standards, including AICPA/IESBA, to identify, evaluate, and manage conflicts of interest, and provide entry-level guidance directly to field professionals on the application of such policy and rules in an area that requires limited judgment
  • Execute tasks that contribute to Conflicts Center of Excellence's (Conflicts COE) projects and processes with appropriate supervision; manage a queue of multiple tasks that generally have short-term deadlines; serve as a role model to peers
  • Perform basic conflict of interest technical research as directed by supervisors to contribute to the provision of technical guidance and to execute tasks; display an introductory level of understanding of the impact of decisions on Audit, Advisory or Tax engagement teams and clients
  • Interface regularly with Conflicts COE manager and director-level professionals regarding the execution of tasks and responsibilities that contribute to achieving desired outcomes for the Independence Group
  • Identify opportunities for innovation within executed tasks, processes and projects that contribute to the improved efficiency and effectiveness of the Conflicts COE
  • Participate in and prepare for interactions with Audit, Advisory, or Tax professionals to provide guidance regarding the application of professional conflict of interest standards along with a supervisor; directly interface with Audit, Advisory, or Tax professionals on entry-level or routine matters involving professional standards or firm policy with limited involvement of a supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of recent work experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to contribute to projects, processes, or programs under some supervision
  • Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, organizational and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
  • Highly collaborative, effective team player, and ability to build productive relationships with peers.

If required, the salary range(s) are displayed below and are specifically for those potential hires who will perform work in or reside in the location(s) listed, if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market-based salary ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), for example. Albany Salary Range: Low: $59500 - High: $81100

Salary : $59,500 - $81,100
