Description
SUMMARY: This position will support the overall benefits department and the Benefits Manager by providing exemplary service to the organization and employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Responsible for the daily management and maintenance of the health and welfare benefit offerings including serving internal clients, issue resolution, platform management, and ACA compliance.
  2. Manage the application of any applicable leave of absence, benefit continuation, ADA requirements, along with active open workers compensation claims.
  3. Oversee administration of all Leave of Absence(s) including but not limited to: FMLA, Disability and Workers Compensation.
  4. Collaborate with human resource managers and third-party administrators to determine legally compliant accommodations when applicable and ensure compliance with eligibility determination, tracking, documentation, and issuing notifications in a timely manner. Provide HR team with reporting and trends to minimize risk and cost.
  5. Assist with communication and standards for best practice protocols. Collaborate with the Benefits team on new benefit plan offerings, design, and marketing of new initiatives.
  6. Assist in Retirement & 401k Plan administration including eligibility tracking, enrollment reconciliation, account funding maintenance, and plan audits.
  7. Responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting related to health and welfare benefits, leave of absence, workers compensation, and disability reporting to show cost and company trends.
  8. Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by Confidentiality and Privacy Standards, in compliance with Mass Regulations on Personal Identity Regulations and HIPAA.
  9. Manage monthly benefits invoicing and reconciliations including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA, HRA, SLTD, STD, telemedicine and COBRA.
  10. Distribution of employee communications including but not limited to: annual notices, 401k related disclosures, employee offerings, and engagement events.
  11. Manage and schedule all employee engagement initiatives and events.
  12. Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  13. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines effectively
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including presenting to large groups.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computing equipment
  • The employee frequently is required to talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
