Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that products manufactured meet the internal and external quality standards and are acceptable for release.
- Provide test results for the internal and external customers in timely manner so that usage decisions and process adjustments can be made to meet customer expectations.
- Ensure safe operation and environmental compliance by following existing procedures. Maintain and verify methods, equipment, and operations to ensure reliable analysis results. Complete calibrations, verifications, and gage R&R work to ensue method reliability. Address instrument troubleshooting and simple repairs for lab instruments.
- Work closely with production and supply chain to ensure quality control across the site. Help address quality issues and non-conformances. Part of the team to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QC function.
- Backup to the sample shipper role for both Dangerous Goods shipping and other sample shipping. Fill sample requests in a timely manner when the Sample Shipper is out.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of analytical methods used and laboratory instrumentation and can recognize opportunities for improvement.
- Knowledge of all safety and environmental procedures and policies.
- SAP Quality, Microsoft Outlook, CRM
- Problem solving and functional/technical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in group.
- 5S knowledge and application
Education, Certifications & Licenses
- Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years lab work experience preferably in a chemical plant.
- Knowledge and skill to use GC’s and evaluate chromatograms.
- Introduction to working with Six Sigma (white belt or yellow belt) and 5S preferred.
- Required (or ability to get within a few months) sample shipper training/certification - 49CFR shipper training and IATA hazardous goods training.
