Bookkeeper Job Description / Job Posting:
Kraus Motor Co is seeking a full-charge, full-time bookkeeper. The bookkeeper’s duties will include processing accounts payable and receivable and managing invoices. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating and analyzing financial reports, ensuring compliance, filing sales tax returns in various states, and making tax payments.
Our ideal candidate will have a successful track record in similar roles and be familiar with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs. They should have proven experience in bookkeeping, including recording day-to-day financial transactions and reconciling all accounts.
Your Responsibilities will be:
1. Documenting financial transaction details and monitoring the transactions.
2. Maintaining and balancing the general ledger accurately and completely, and keeping the general ledger up to date
3. Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function, including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
4. Conduct accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition.
5. Processing payroll and tracking payroll data
6. Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities, and expenses) under the direction of the head of accounting.
7. Reconcile all bank accounts.
8. Fact-checking accounting data
9. Proactively work with other departments to ensure all accounting transactions are entered correctly and accurately.
10. Prepare financial reports through the collection, analysis, and summarization of data.
11. Support month-end and year-end close process
Qualifications:
1. Previous and proven experience in accounting, finance, GAAP or other related fields, with a proven minimum of 3 years of experience.
2. Experience with A/P, A/R, Payroll and General Ledger
3. Proficient in Microsoft office and Microsoft excel, as well as an accounting system or ERP system.
4. Detail-oriented, organized, consistent, dependable, and honest in their dealings
5. Must keep work confidential and will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
6. Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and processes with the ability to recognize inaccuracies and make the appropriate corrections.
7. Enthusiastic about learning new skills and software systems
8. Responsive and able to work with other team members in person, virtually, via email or chat.
