Work Schedule – 6:00 am – 2:30pm Monday – Friday
The position: The Wood Veneer Stain-Finisher will be responsible for performing all duties related to the staining and finishing of wood doors. This includes the safe and efficient operation of various pieces of machinery as required for the specific work area.
Qualifications:
- Ability to cut and shape material to prescribed measurements using hand and power tools.
- Ability to mix colors and shades with the appropriate ingredients and work with water base penetrating stains, and water base polyurethane clears.
- Ability to distinguish different types of wood species, grains, and cuts.
- Knowledge in all aspects of wood door finishing; troubleshooting, wiping, spraying, wood repair, veneer repair and refinishing damages
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Skills:
- Attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Experience applying wood veneer and veneer repair.
- Experience with wood production related machinery and equipment.
- Experience with sanding and preparing veneer and hardwood for finish including touching up defects in veneer.
- Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, communicate, and work well with others.
Education and Experience:
- Education & Experience: A High School Diploma or GED certificate required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2-5 years’ experience in finishing techniques
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing for long periods of time, lifting to 75 lbs, bending, and twisting stand sit, use hands to manipulate equipment.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
