Category Manager, Beverage Sourcing

The Category Manager, Strategic Sourcing of Beverages & Dairy - is responsible for developing strategies that drive productivity benefits while also ensuring the execution of these strategies within a Global Cross Functional team environment. This includes strategic sourcing of the key categories, Beverages, and Dairy, understanding the supplier capabilities, dynamics and competitive factors in the given supply markets. Position will have daily responsibility for Supplier Relationship Management process; supply agreement commitments, other key documentation requirements, and category spend analysis. This position is responsible for understanding the overall internal business needs of the stakeholders related to the assigned categories, leading and facilitating cross functional productivity teams for execution and implementation of the sourcing global category strategies.

Category Responsibilities:

• Items: All beverage and dairy related items that are part of our shops.
• Beverage items related to chilled drinks, bottled beverages, licensed items through the 3rd distributors and LTO beverage items
• Items specific to the CPG displays and other related items
• Monitors and tracks market conditions related to upstream costs (i.e. Sugar, Flavors, Chemicals), keeps stakeholders informed and makes recommendations on taking positions in line with financial needs of the Business Enterprise.
• Works with KKDC approved Warehouse & Logistics providers to ensure all the proper documentation and processes are provided in a timely manner to maintain our customer services levels.
• Lead Supplier Relationship process to develop, manage, and measure the continuous improvement performance we expect of our key supplier alliances.
• Partner with key Cross Functional teams to bring Supplier led Innovation to the organization for new items and services to support the marketing and operations efforts of the organization.
• Ensure the internal business needs are defined and aligned with the category
• Builds spend analysis of the category and identifies potential opportunities for improvement
• Developing and maintaining the budget data and forecast (reforecast) for all category products
• Interacting with business groups to ensure a consistent source of supply for established products and studying market trends to recommend new and innovative items
• Working under limited supervision to complete complex assignments that meet deadlines
• Developing personal goals to support the Krispy Kreme Initiatives and global sourcing department objectives
• Position will require Domestic Travel approximately 2-3 times per year and may require an International trip depending on needs.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

• B.S. Degree in Business or Engineering discipline required
• MBA preferred
• 5-8 years of experience in Sourcing management preferably in Beverages.
• Working experience in quick serve restaurant and distribution replenishment processes a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication, organizational, time management and leadership skills
• Ability to influence and work in a cross functional team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent financial/analytical skills to manage and measure performance
• Assertive ability to troubleshoot and manage difficult situations
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
• ISM - CPM/CPSM certification (or similar accreditation) is preferred
