For in-house photo editor:

15-20 Hours per week. Additional hours may be available over time depending on time of year.

Responsibilities

  • Backup images after each session
  • Cull memory cards for the best 150 images from 800-1600 images per session are in the best focus and overall composition.
  • Further, make the selection down to the best 60-75 images that display the company's best work while maintaining a balance of images both candid and posed while not having repetitive photos within the gallery.
  • Edit in LR using company presets (see below)
  • Make needed edits in PS (see below)
  • Generate an online client gallery
  • Add images to folders for use on the website and social media
  • Should plan to be trained on curation techniques. Following company techniques, how to prep images for print, album design, and graphic design.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Lightroom (creating catalogs, applying presets, adjusting exposure and temperature, cropping, and straightening images)
  • Proficient in Photoshop (skin retouching, composites, extending backgrounds, removing distracting objects in the background, liquifying, etc)
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and maintain timely completion of edits within the established workflow.

Initial training hours will be designated and agreed upon by the employer during an interview to find the best time for both parties. A flexible schedule that is deadline-driven - meaning sessions must be ready within a set time frame - as long as work is being done on time and well. Once the employee has demonstrated successful completion of galleries within the standards of the studio and is consistent with the brand, they can make their own schedule based on the needs of the studio. All work must be done in the studio with the option for some remote work after the initial training period.

Non-solicitation, non-disclosure & non-compete (Fairfield County newborn photography) are required. After 60 days an employment review will be conducted to evaluate performance.

The applicant may be required to complete a preliminary editing test as part of the interview process. With best efforts to match company edit quality.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift

  • Westport, CT 06880: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Adobe Lightroom: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Adobe Photoshop: 1 year (Preferred)
