Position Summary:
Order and stock merchandise, cut in new items, maintain department planograms, control inventory, and maintain the assigned section of the Food department. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.
Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
Essential Job Functions:
- Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Maintain compliance with divisional signing, recovery, and merchandising standards
- Coordinate merchandising of the section
- Order merchandise
- Build and maintain vendor relationships
- Receive and process freight
- Perform inventory control functions
- Perform housekeeping functions
- Verify merchandise rotation
- Verify ads and promotions are set to standard
- Process salvage
- Prepare for physical inventory, as directed
- Process returns/exchanges
- Conduct stock counts
- Build ends and displays
- Maintain compliance with planograms and composites
- Process product deletions
- Verify accuracy of price changes
- Sell products to customers and perform cashier functions
- Process orders, as needed
- Process mail
- Monitor overstock/understock conditions to maintain ordering system integrity
- Respond to verbal customer comments/complaints
- Write Intersection Transfers
- Maintain compliance with the shrink control guidelines
- Promote and follow Company initiatives
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of six months Fred Meyer experience and one-two years related retail experience; or combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age/19 years of age in Idaho
- Ability to pass drug test
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work nights/weekends on a regular basis, work any shift, and overtime as needed
- Maintain confidentiality
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
- Familiarity with industry/technical terms/processes
- Ability to operate the following special equipment, machinery, and/or special tools: Telzon, Shelf Price Audit (SPA) unit
