Position Summary:
Enhance our customers' shopping experience with the sharing of culinary knowledge, providing home meal replacement, and development of recipes at a good price to give our customers what they want. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee and train Deli personnel on product preparation and presentation.
- Ensure that staff adheres to all Food Safety, HACCP and Sanitation procedures.
- Engage customers at peak hours forming relationships, soliciting feedback and ensuring customer satisfaction, to solidify customer loyalty.
- Assist Executive Chef in tracking shrink on a daily basis.
- Become a member of the American Culinary Association and participate in meetings and functions of the organization.
- Be responsible for setting up Silent Demos through the entire store and all departments.
- Assist Executive Chef in participating in Community events, Fundraisers, Cook Offs and other Media events.
- Ensure all Kroger policies and procedures are followed on a regular basis.
- Possess and continuously demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
- Assist in job sharing with Deli functions when needed, while always keeping the Customer First Strategy in mind.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or extensive culinary experience
- Able to inspire, motivate and train staff while ensuring successful completion of all assigned tasks
- Must be knowledgeable and current in culinary trends
- Excellent communications skills
- Able to multitask
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- A strong desire to learn with enthusiasm, and an interest and willingness to try new and innovative approaches
Desired Previous Job Experience
- Sous Chef or line cook for off premise catering operation
- Culinary Degree preferred
- ServeSafe certification
