Position Summary:
Manage all aspects of the Shoe department which include Profit & Loss responsibilities, seasonal sets, on hand price integrity, and to maintain a clean, recovered, and in stock department. Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
Essential Job Functions:
- Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Maintain compliance with the following:
o divisional signing, recovery, ticketing, stockroom, and fixture usage and maintenance standards
o corporate policies
o merchandising standards
o Replenishment Management System (RMS) functions and Function 8
o freight receiving and freight stocking standards
o all safety guidelines and standards
o shipping/receiving procedures
o shrink control guidelines
- Coordinate and organize merchandising of the section
- Receive and process freight
- Perform inventory control functions, as required
- Verify ads and promotions are set to standard
- Process mismates, as directed
- Plan ads/store events and verify they are set to standard
- Maintain compliance and follow up on planograms
- Verify price changes are completed to standard
- Promote and follow Company initiatives
- Sell merchandise to customers
- Perform cashier functions
- Audit and take appropriate action on scan audits
- Process/file mail and maintain department books
- Maintain awareness of overstock/understock conditions
- Respond to verbal customer comments/complaints
- Maintain the condition of the department
- Identify and take appropriate action on all maintenance/repair needs
- Maintain salvage procedures
- Process Intersection Transfers
- Audit and follow up on callbacks
- Maintain awareness and respond appropriately to daily/weekly sales
- All store management work with associates to manage all common associate areas (i.e. break rooms and training areas) to make sure they are inviting in appearance and reflect "Our People Are Great"
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of six months Fred Meyer experience and one-two years related retail experience; or combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to pass drug test
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work weekends/nights on a regular basis, work any shift, and work overtime as needed
- Maintain confidentiality
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- Ability to organize/prioritize variety of tasks/projects
- Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
- Ability to operate the following special equipment, machinery, and/or special tools: Symbol, Enterprise Signs and Tags Printing (ESTP), and Shelf Price Audit (SPA) unit
- Second language
The final rate of pay is determined at store level based on prior equivalent work experience.
